Certified Professional Dental Office Manager
Dental office managers are the hub of the dental practice. On top of being well versed in the day-to-day administration duties, an office manager must have an overall understanding of many business aspects.
As a Certified Professional Dental Office Manager, you have a deep understanding of the following topics:
As a CPDOM you understand the fundamentals of marketing, its importance and how to plan and execute a marketing plan. In today’s reality, despite the fairly strict marketing regulations, a properly executed marketing plan can be the difference between success and mediocrity.
All businesses are an accumulation of income and expenses. As the clinic leader, a CPDOM is able to create a budget, review, analyze and interpret financial reports, establish projections and engage in strategic planning for short-term (1-3 years) and long-term (3-5 years).
Human resources remains the most challenging aspect to master in all businesses. A dental practice is no different. As a CPDOM, you understand labour laws and human rights legislation, fundamentals of interviewing, hiring, training, motivating and facilitating departures. Also, a CDPOM is able to create documentation for clinics in the form of a staff handbook, oversee the overall operation of a dental practice and ensure everyone stays on the path towards achieving the agreed upon goals.
Leadership is all about ensuring your team understands the purpose of the dental practice and their role in it. As a CPDOM you engage the owner with meaningful conversations about practice and individual metrics, you inspire the team through personal example and ensure your team has all the necessary tools to succeed in their roles.
